It is our pleasure to introduce our webinar in light of the EU Focus Day: 'What works to prevent domestic burglaries?' on Monday 14 June at 13:00 CET (duration: one hour).

Since 2019 our Network and several European countries organise the EU Focus Day on domestic burglary. The aim of this initiative is to step up to fight against this crime by informing citizens on how they can protect their homes. It might seem odd to still focus on domestic burglaries given the fact that this type of crime has been decreasing for many years in most European countries. However, it still accounts for the majority of Organised Property Crime offences, it not only robs people op their possessions but also of their sense of security at home, a place where everyone should feel most safe and the financial impact on society still make this an important problem.

As is it one of the key functions of our Network to be a catalyst for facilitating more effective policies and initiatives, this webinar (and the relating paper) aims to support European, national and local stakeholders by giving an overview of the initiatives which may or may not work to prevent domestic burglaries.

Participation is free but registration is mandatory. Access links will be sent prior to the webinar.
