Awareness-raising campaigns are communication interventions designed to inform the public about crime risks, prevention measures and safer behaviours. They are based on the idea that increasing knowledge can influence attitudes and encourage behavioural change. Examples include campaigns promoting stronger passwords to prevent cybercrime, encouraging people to secure their homes against burglary, or informing communities about the risks of harmful behaviours. While awareness-raising is widely used in practice, evidence shows that information alone does not always lead to behaviour change. This webinar explores how such campaigns can be designed and implemented more effectively by applying evidence-informed approaches.

The webinar takes place on Thursday 3 September 2026 between 14:00 - 14:45 CET (CEST). Participation is free, but registration is mandatory. The webinar will be hosted via Teams. After registration, an automatic confirmation email will be sent to you from @ibzfgovbe.
