F.E.F.A., winner of the Belgian Security and Crime Prevention Award 2011, is a comprehensive project about playing soccer, studying, a family balance,... and becoming good citizens. The project focuses on the integration and cohabitation of youths by playing football and following homework classes.

Sport, science and art are considered among the factors that improve the quality of life. Consequently, the aim of the project is to include these factors into the everyday life of the target group and to help its members develop healthy and quality life-style, positive attitude towards life and find their own creative potential.

Icehearts is not considered as a diversion from or alternative to time spend in criminal activity. Rather, sport is used as a means of establishing relationships with at-risk children and their families. The programme also aims at preventing circumstances that would lead to the taking of the child into custody by the child welfare authorities. Other objectives are to decrease inequality, prevent truancy and drop-outs, help ensure a peaceful and orderly school environment.
