The two projects aimed at testing the CPTED-principles (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) in ‘ordinary’ Finnish cities. An outside evaluation of the city centres’ safety and the possibilities of development and recommendations were to be given to the use of the authorities, aiming at reducing street violence and the fear of crime.
