The study presented by the Romanian Crime Research and Prevention Institute provides an analysis of the dimensions of burglary in dwellings (frequency of occurrence at national level, its dynamics (2005-2010), rural-urban disparities, territorial spreading etc.). The purpose of the study was to familiarize with this type of offence, with its forms of manifestation and with its influencing factors, in order to identify interventions towards increasing the safety level of citizens.
The research summary from the Romanian Crime Research and Prevention Institute, Public enquiry on Social attitudes on (road) traffic risks, examined car drivers’ attitudes towards traffic risks. The outcomes are supposed to be used to guide the activities on road traffic education. The study was a reiteration of a research conducted 2 years ago, in March 2008, and had the same objectives as the one carried out earlier.
The aim of the study of the Romanian Crime Research and Prevention Institute was to identify crime issues occurring within the community, the level of community safety, as well as the citizens’ expectations regarding Police activity with the help of opinion polls.
In Romania, sexual crimes have been scarcely tackled in criminological studies so that, at present, there has only been disparate data and statistics regarding this type of crime. In the context of accurate information being the basis to ensure efficient preventive endeavours as well as having in view the fact that the prevention of sexual crimes against minors is one of the priorities of the Romanian Police in the field of crime prevention.
